$

Fully loaded: wage, benefits, tools and overhead.

min

Agent time spent per conversation, including wrap-up.

Each message the AI sends counts as one reply. Most resolved chats take 1 to 3.

55%

50 to 60% is a realistic starting point for a well-documented product. Teams with lots of account-specific or judgement-heavy questions should start lower.

This is an estimate, not a quote. It assumes resolved conversations need no agent time at all and the rest take the same time as today. Real results depend on how complete your help content is and how complex your questions are. Try Bund AI on your own conversations to see your real resolution rate.

How it's calculated

Cost per ticket
Cost per ticket = agent cost per hour x handle time (min) / 60
Monthly cost today
Monthly cost = conversations x cost per ticket
With an AI agent
Cost = (conversations - AI resolved) x cost per ticket + plan price
Plan needed
AI replies = AI resolved conversations x replies per conversation
Hours freed
Hours = AI resolved conversations x handle time (min) / 60
The plan shown is the cheapest Bund AI plan whose monthly AI reply allowance covers the replies needed. Prices are the monthly list prices from the pricing page.
Worked examples

Support cost examples

Four teams run through the calculator, including a deliberately conservative case.

Growing support team

A small team handling chat and email for an online product.

2,000 conversations a month, $25 an hour, 8 minute handle time, AI resolves 55%, 2 replies per conversation.

Each ticket costs $3.33 today, $6,667 a month. The AI resolves 1,100 conversations using about 2,200 replies, which fits the Growth plan at $99. Team cost falls to $3,000, so the estimate is about $3,568 saved a month and 147 agent hours freed.

Small business

A founder-led team answering customer emails.

300 conversations a month, $20 an hour, 10 minute handle time, AI resolves 50%.

$3.33 a ticket, $1,000 a month. 150 AI-resolved conversations need about 300 replies, covered by Starter at $49. Estimated cost $549 a month, saving about $451 and 25 hours.

High volume

A support operation well past 10,000 AI replies a month.

10,000 conversations a month, $30 an hour, 6 minute handle time, AI resolves 60%.

$3.00 a ticket, $30,000 a month. 6,000 resolved conversations need about 12,000 replies, above the Scale plan, so this is an Enterprise conversation. The agent time saved is worth about $18,000 a month before plan cost.

Being conservative

The growing team again, assuming the AI only resolves 30%.

2,000 conversations, $25 an hour, 8 minutes, AI resolves 30%.

600 resolved conversations use about 1,200 replies, which needs Growth at $99. Team cost is $4,667, so savings drop to about $1,901 a month. Worth running your own low case before you commit.

Getting a fair estimate

How to get a number you can trust

The math is simple. The inputs are where estimates go wrong, in both directions.

01

Use fully loaded agent cost

Wage alone understates cost per ticket. Include benefits, software seats, management and overhead, often 1.25 to 1.4 times base pay.

02

Start with a realistic resolution rate

50 to 60% is a fair starting assumption for a product with good help content. Complex, account-specific or judgement-heavy questions resolve less often.

03

Count replies, not conversations

AI plans are usually metered on messages sent. A resolved conversation often takes 2 or 3 replies, so budget on replies to avoid a surprise.

04

Freed hours are not automatically savings

The money only moves if you hire less, absorb growth without hiring, or redeploy people to higher-value work. Plan which one before you count it.
